Panagiotopoulos Wines’ story begins when Dimitris Panagiotopoulos, after working in another winery for years, decided to produce his own wines. So in 1982, together with his father who was a viticulturist and other partners, he began the realization of his dream. The winery of the company was completed in 2005 and since then the organic Panagiotopoulos Wines which are produced in an area of great beauty, Messinia, are, officially, a fact.
The Nestor winery is located in southwest Messinia, in Pyrgos in the municipality of Trifilia. The facilities of the winery imitate the architecture and the colors of King Nestor’s ancient palace, which is only 6 km away. “Nestor” is one of the largest wine cellars in the country, its sheltered space covers 10,000 m2, while 3,000 m2 are the underground cellars. The collaborating vintners cultivate mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Grenache Rouge, Grenache Blanc, Cabernet Frame, Merlot and Tempranillo along with various Greek native varieties such as Fileri, Moschofilero, Roditis, Fokianos and Mandilaria. In a natural landscape and very close to sites and attractions of unparalleled beauty, our hospitable staff of Nestor will welcome and guide you through the labyrinthine facilities. The wider area of Trifilia is an excellent destination for wine tourism, as it has great sights and archaeological monuments.
